Offline Mode allows you to continue playing music even when your device temporarily loses internet connection. By downloading playlists or stations in advance, your Soundsuit app can play music locally without interruption.
Offline downloads are available on:
iOS
Android
Windows
macOS
Linux
This is particularly useful in locations where internet connectivity may be unstable.
How to download music for Offline Mode
Follow these steps to download music to your device:
Open the Soundsuit app.
Open a playlist or a station.
Click the Download icon.
Downloading a playlist
When downloading a playlist, the entire playlist will be downloaded automatically.
If your device has limited storage, the app will intelligently download the maximum number of tracks possible based on available space.
Downloading a station
Because stations can contain a very large number of tracks, you will be asked to choose a download size.
Typical options include:
50 tracks – approx. 2h30 playback (~350 MB)
100 tracks – approx. 5h playback (~700 MB)
150 tracks – approx. 7h30 playback (~1.1 GB)
200 tracks – approx. 10h playback (~1.4 GB)
This ensures long continuous playback without repetition, even when offline.
Automatic updates of downloaded playlists and stations
Downloaded music stays automatically up-to-date.
When your device reconnects to the internet:
The Soundsuit app automatically checks every 8 hours for updates.
If changes are detected (such as new tracks, removed tracks, or updated track order), the app will download the updated version automatically.
This ensures your offline content always reflects the latest playlist curation.
How to refresh a downloaded station
If you want to force a station to refresh with new music, simply modify any parameter in the station settings.
For example, you can:
add a new music genre
change the audience style (for example from Mainstream to Trendy)
adjust other station settings
Once the station settings are updated, the Soundsuit app will recognize that the station configuration has changed and will download a new selection of tracks for the offline version.
How to delete downloaded music
To remove downloaded content and free up storage space:
Open the playlist or station in the app.
Tap the Downloaded icon.
The status will switch back to Not downloaded.
The downloaded files will be removed from your device, freeing storage space.
When should you use Offline Mode?
Offline downloads are recommended when:
Your location has unstable or slow internet
You want extra reliability during busy hours
Your venue experiences temporary network outages
With Offline Mode enabled, your Soundsuit app ensures continuous music playback without interruption.
